Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind (CLB) specializes in low vision care that assists people experiencing vision loss in making the most of their remaining vision. A doctor of optometry leads CLB's efforts to provide low vision services that extend solutions for accommodating vision loss and offer alternatives that help patients retain independence.

Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., in the Washington, DC location. Please call for scheduling at our satellite locations.

Low vision evaluations are performed in CLB satellite clinics throughout Washington, DC, Suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Services include a comprehensive low vision evaluations, follow-up visits, counseling, support, and instruction in the use of low vision aids such as magnifiers, telescopic devices, glare reduction filters and adaptive technologies.

CLB is a private, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing education, training, rehabilitation, and social services to individuals who are blind or visually impaired throughout the Greater Washington metropolitan region and across the country.

Since 1900, CLB has offered programs that enable individuals who are blind and visually impaired to become independent and successful in the workplace, the community and at home. In addition to low vision care, CLB services include assistive technology training and consultation, career services, and comprehensive rehabilitation services.
