RFB&D is recognized as the nation's leading educational lending library of academic and professional textbooks on audio tape from elementary through post-graduate and professional levels. We also offer the nonprofit sale of dictionaries, reference materials and professional books on computer disk (E-Text) and specially adapted tape players/recorders to use with our audio books.

The American Printing House for the Blind (APH) was founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 1858, a date that makes it the oldest institution of its kind in the United States. APH also boasts another superlative: we are the world's largest company devoted solely to creating products for people who are visually impaired. APH manufactures braille, large type, recorded, and computer disk publications, and an assortment of educational and daily living aids. APH also offers a variety of services to assist consumers and professionals in the field. Louis (formerly CARL ET AL), a database listing materials available in accessible media from organizations across the country, is one example. Educational research and development are another ongoing and integral part of operations at APH.

Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center The Mid-Illinois Talking Book Service is a sub-regional library serving the blind and physically handicapped in all or part of 60 counties in central Illinois. It was formed in 1996 by a reorganization of the Heart of Illinois Talking Book Center (Pekin) and the River Road Talking Book Service (Quincy).
Library for the Blind Canada The CNIB Library for the Blind, located in Toronto, Ontario, offers nation-wide library and information services for approximately 500,000 blind and print disabled Canadians. It is Canada's largest producer of materials in alternate formats--braille, tactile, audio, and electronic text. The CNIB Library is a Division of The Canadian National Institute for the Blind, a not-for-profit agency dependent on the financial support of individuals, corporations, foundations and other organizations, in addition to the volunteer support of hundreds of individuals across the country.
